This is a Railfan website but you'll find much more here than just railfan videos. I also make instructional "Do it Yourself' videos and other videos such as music if I happen to come across a good band playing. I will also include nature videos if I find myself in a nice scenic area and sometimes the occasional review of a product among other things.... As I said in the title...It's Not Just Trains. My Review of the Blackberry Priv
Ok it's been roughly a month since I got the new Blackberry PRIV with Android so I think it's time for a review.
I'm going to start by saying that originally when I went to the Verizon store my original plan was to get the Samsung Galaxy S7. I had an S5 previously and liked it a lot. It never skipped a beat. I actually had the S7 in my hand and noticed a phone over in the corner of the Verizon store. I asked the salesperson what it was. He said that's the new Blackberry with Android. I was like what? I thought Blackberry was a memory! I went over and checked it thoroughly and realized this was my next phone. What really caught my attention was the fact that it still had a mechanical keyboard which I found by accident as I was handling the store display model...very cool!
So like I said here we are a month later and I have nothing but positive things to say. It performs very well. Smooth transition between screens. The apps start up very quickly. The camera is absolutely awesome with its Schneider KREUZNACH 18 Megapixel Lens. It takes awesome videos with amazing sound even when playing back on a larger stereo with surround sound. It even has wireless QI charging but I wouldn't recommend leaving it on a wireless charger all night because those chargers seem to stay very warm even when the device is fully charged. Remember heat kills batteries. BTW the mechanical keyboard which seems to be a Blackberry trademark is awesome and is much quicker to type with than the software keyboard. One more thing. It can support SD cards up to 1 Terabyte in size!! How awesome is that?
The Bottom Line? Check it out! Blackberry is Back and I think they will only get bigger going forward. This is a great phone and I definitely recommend it.
